The original house is a mid-century style 2-story house sitting on a beautiful hill in Oakland. A few years ago Koami Architecture worked with the client to redesign all the openings of the house with the future renovation and seismic retrofit in mind.

 

We’re fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the client again to help them transform the house based on the now-grown family’s needs. Interior renovation connects the two levels with a central staircase and an open kitchen. The addition of the terraced outdoor deck and patio provides a stronger indoor-outdoor connection between the house and the surrounding beautiful natural ground both physically and visually.
